During this workshop you will:
• Become a member of JVS CareerSolution
• Sign-up for a one-on-one meeting the same day with a Career Navigator to develop your personal career action plan 
• Learn to navigate the Career Center calendar and register for workshops and services
• Discover the on-site resources available to help you research career options, search for jobs and work on your resume and job search correspondence

Sometimes additional training can be the barrier that stands between you and your next job. Attend this session to learn if you are eligible for training assistance to develop useful skills for the workplace or to make the skills you already have more marketable. Dislocated workers from Boston based companies and income eligible adults from the city of Boston are especially welcome. This session will provide an overview of the Workforce Investment Act, a federally funded skills training program that pays for job skills training to eligible individuals who meet specific criteria.

Job Search Strategy Group for MenAre you male, age 50+ and experiencing difficulty securing your next job? Could you use fresh ideas and a new approach?

JVS CareerSolution is offering a 6-week Job Search Strategy Group for Men co-facilitated by two experienced JVS career professionals with extensive experience working with individuals in career transition and/or extended job searches.

The Job Strategy Group will provide a safe space to:

  • Meet and speak openly with peers experiencing the same/similar concerns
  • Diminish the isolation that often accompanies the job search
  • Identify strategies and solutions / Share resources and feedback that can accelerate forward movement

DATE:  March 6—April 10

TIME:  2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

LOCATION: Newton Office JVS CareerSolution 61 Chapel Street, Newton

FEE:  $150 for 6-week group (Limited to 8)

Meet our Facilitators:

Amy Mazur is a Lead Career Counselor and Counselor Educator who, for over 20 years has been assisting individuals to begin, renew and advance their careers. Her expertise includes educating, training and mentoring  career professionals .  As adjunct faculty at Lesley University, Amy taught Vocational Development & Career Counseling.  Working with the Institute for Career Transitions, Amy also supports the research and its application focused on supporting long-term unemployed professionals.
