Meet one-on-one with a career coach on a first-come, first served basis to discuss any employment issues that you may have. Perhaps you're looking for some clarity on your career direction or need some help to re-energize your job search. Or maybe you have a question about an interview coming up or would like some advice on how to take your resume to the next level. You define how to use your time with a CareerSolution team member. Sessions are 20-30 minutes.

Are online applications keeping you from ending your job search and getting hired? Let our team help and guide you through the steps to completing a successful online application! Bring to this workshop: a word or PDF version of your resume (and cover letter too, if needed), your employment and education history, the names and contact info of 3-5 references, and a list of where you’ve lived for the past 10 years. This online lab will help you navigate the process from start to finish.

This workshop focuses on the age-related issues that can arise when you’re looking for a job and provides practical suggestions for dealing with them. Through interactive exercises, you will identify the many ways that being your age can actually benefit an employer. You will learn strategies for “getting in the door” for an interview as well as strategies for handling age-related questions you may encounter once you go for the interview.

In less than an hour, the Welcome Session will give you an overview of all the services that can help you launch a career, find a job, build your skills and advance to a better job. Please bring your resume, if you have one.

During this workshop you will:
• Become a member of JVS CareerSolution
• Sign-up for a one-on-one meeting the same day with a Career Navigator to develop your personal career action plan 
• Learn to navigate the Career Center calendar and register for workshops and services
• Discover the on-site resources available to help you research career options, search for jobs and work on your resume and job search correspondence

Welcome Sessions are walk-in events; no pre-registration required.
